Fat-Chilli Cards & Gifts is keen to ensure the materials used for our products are both high quality and kind to the environment. It is important to us to manage our business responsibly and ethically and to help ensure we reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.

Greetings Cards
The Fat-Chilli greetings cards are printed on to a quality board that is a substantial 350gs in weight. The card used is a silk finish, which provides a nice glossy surface on the front of the card to showcase the artwork, but which is also easy to write on inside the card. The cards are made from 80% recycled and 20% sustainable forest sourced materials, and the board used is FSC certified.



Envelopes
The Fat- Chilli greetings card envelopes come in a choice of scarlet red or pure white. We are currently using up our existing envelope stock on the sample cards, however, all finished cards supplied with immediate effect will be FSC certified.

Clear Film Greetings Card Bags
The clear film pockets that are used to package the greetings cards are made from cornstarch – which is an annually renewable resource.
The bags are fully bio-degradable and compostable, breaking down
into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H20) in 45 days under industrial conditions at 58 degrees C.

We are currently using up our existing bag stock on the sample cards (which are not cornstarch); but all finished cards supplied with
immediate effect will be of the cornstarch material.

our gift ranges in the near future.

Recycling
The Fat-Chilli card materials may all be recycled with cardboard or paper products. For more details on recycling please contact your local council who will be able to provide advice specific to your locality, alternatively, tips and advice on recycling may be found on the following sites:
